Wow what abusy fun day. After getting up and getting ready we had a great breakfast - FREE at the hotel (we had eggs, bacon, french toast, bagels, danish, cereal, fruit, yogurt, muffins). We returned back upstairs and suited up in warm clothes. We drove to the center of town to the Carnival. We stopped at this castle made of ice - including a throne the kids sat on.
Next the kids tried out the giant ice slide. Zachary came down it on his belly and he looked like one of the penguins. Next we headed out onto the Lake. Eveything you could possibly imagine was on the ice with us - including an airplane and a helicopter. There were ATV and motorcycle races going on and people were zipping around on snowmobiles everywhere. Mikayla and Nick had a great time sliding around on the ice like they were ice skating. Zack on the other hand was afraid we were going to fall in!
We walked over to watch the Encampment of 1757.
Trivia question for the day....what were the 2 groups involved in the Encampment of 1757?
Next we walked down around the side of the lake. We watched as they blew up a hot air balloon. We were able to walk INSIDE the balloon. It was massive! You really don't understand how big they are until you get inside of one.
Zachary stopped to get his face painted - a snowman of course! The kids (or specifically Mikayla) started to get cold so we decided to head back to the hotel. We had lunch in our room. The boys decided to go swimming. Kathy's cold was getting the best of her so we hung out in the room for a while.
We headed down to the Lake for fireworks at 630. After we headed to the Old Chinese Buffet. Kathy stopped to pick up juice for her cold and back to the hotel. This hotel offers movies that are still in the theater! We were going to rent one but decided $15 was a little steep - although cheaper than taking eveyone to the movies! We settled for Enchanted...it is Valentines Day tomorrow. Headed to bed early - cuz we have a busy day tomorrow!

  3. Congratulations Dennis. We have a winner to the trivia contest. "There were the French Led by General Louis-Joseph de Montcalm at Fort Carillon
(now known as Fort Ticonderoga) against the British under General James
Abercrombie at Fort William Henry. The battle was the bloodiest of the war, with
over 3,000 casualties suffered, of which over 2,000 were British. Vicki said I
was cheating, but I think the internet is fair game!"

We will have a fabulous prize for you when we return home. Keep Playing!
